21st August ride - Kranji- Bollywood veggies- old lim chu kang Jetty and more

Hi Everybody
I am brand new member. A true novice. Know nuthing much about bikes and cycling. Hope to join this event though to get the feel. I old man turning 60.
Have been riding slowly on short exercusions with a new 9 speed Birdy ( for my butt). Farthest venture from Brickland Road to Jurong Park (think around 15 Km both way).
Need advice whether can survive this 50 Km trip.
(BTW I switch to cycling to save my knees from years of jogging.)

Hi Sir, welcome here. You are not at all old. The distance from Brickland till Jurong is more than 15km both way... I think at least 20 and above.

BTW, we ride slow. I suppose should not be an issue

Sir, u are welcome! It is not about bikes but that we all ride. Any bike, brand is welcome. We ride slowly and as a team. Pls come and introduce urself.

I'm over 60 and don't feel old. Had my first ride with the group on ND and it was great.
I see you are in CCK, I'm also in CCK. If you wish, we can ride to Kranji station together.

Welcome, Make sure ur bicycle is in a good working condition. Also patch-kit and spare tube. Although helmets are not a rule, I would highly reccomend it as I have seen first hand that it works. I suppose u have been riding around and comfortable on the roads, if not when we do our safety and route briefing. Pls do let me know that you can tag along more experienced riders.

bring cash and water. not sure about the weather for this sunday, but the last Kranji ride we had was so hot and there are fewer areas to refill than most other ride routes. also, as a fair warning, the area is quite hilly but i made it, so i'm sure you can too.
